Phoenix charger vs multi 2 (charger only)

Hello

I have a 24 volt setup. Cerbo gx, two mppt 100/20, separate (non Victron) charger and inverter. I prefer all my load on inverter mode because power input (voltage) from grid is too poor. What I do want is a full integration of all my chargers. What i understand is that phoenix chargers do not support DVCC etc. So the question is if a multiplus (in charger mode) only will do a better integration of the system then a stand alone Victron charger.

I use a multiplus as an inverter only and do find the VRM/GX support is better than with my inverter only phoenix inverter. It seems the GX console doesn't show loads and sources nicely in the GUI unless using multiplus/quatro. I am guessing the same is true using it as charger only. However, I am unsure if DVCC will meet your needs as my luck with DVCC has been quite limited and my confidence in it quite low as. result.

I use two Skylla-i chargers 24V 100A in parallel so they act as one 200A charger. DVCC doesn't work with them despite the VE-CAN connection but the GX device does see them. I control the chargers via my Orion BMS via a remote on/off cable. This works okay, but I would much prefer to be able to set the charge current limit dynamically rather that the coarse on off control I am left with. There is also a pesky low voltage alarm via VRM each time it turns on.

I am now exploring using Node Red to dynamically set the AC input current limit of the Skylla-i chargers. My hope is that by reducing the input current limit it will reduce the output current in a timely and consistent manner. It is possible to change the input current limit via CAN message as I use a remote panel connected by CAN. I am unsure of the timing, calibration and general practicality until I test it. If that works, it seems the charge current limit could be mapped to the AC input current limit accordingly to effectively enable the use of DVCC through the back door of Node Red.
