AES not for VE.Bus Systems: Does even a VE.Bus BMS inhibit AES ?

My UPS seems to not enter AES mode. System only comprises of one MP2 GX, LiFePO4 Smart and VE.Bus BMS.

VEConnect has >> Important note: AES settings will be ignored when the device is part of a VE.Bus system. In other words: "AES will function only when the device is working stand-alone. <<

So does this mean, even connecting VE.Bus BMS makes it a VE.Bus system, and MP2 GX just ignore AES settings ?

Edit Jul 26

Still couldn‘t get AES help preserve my battery level. Zero load power still 18W, far above data sheet rates (9W w/ AES, 13W w/o). And ACout voltage doesn‘t show AES Search voltage dips. MP2 GX runs latest v510.

Is it the VE.Bus system AES restriction, or some other dependencies I might not be aware of ?

@Ge Org

A VE BUS system is a three phase or parrallel system.

In stand alone you should be able to activate AES.

Maybe set the trigger a bit higher?

@Alexandra , good you confirmed AES shouId work in my (stand alone) setup. And good you suggested to set the Start AES trigger even higher: Only when set to 115W my MP2 GX (with zero load!) entered AES mode. Not the intended idle level, but at least I know which settings work.

So thanks again. And would be nice if you could advice doc team to eventually update the AES clause in manual and help text as needed (see above) - to save some time for those who haven‘t installed dozens of systems yet ;-)

I think sometimes the system self consumption reading some of the issue. All systems are different, even for those of us who have done a few. So I would have still been in your position, modifying the setting until I got it right.

Glad you have it sorted though. :)
