Question as above. My battery bank consists of four Victron carbon lead 106ah in an off grid setting (cottage). Performs flawless with 4x330w LG solar panels. Absorption time is 2hrs with typical load.
During really cloudy days, the solar panel cannot top load the battery bank. For these cases, I have bought a 4kw inverter genset. The genset connects with the inverter and battery voltage increases rapidly (from e.g. 50V to 57.6V in about ten minutes), but drops to float voltage immediately (1 min as per victron connect).
Days after using the generator, min voltage is about 47v. When not using the genset, battery min voltage is typically about/over 48V with decent/good sun.
I am using default settings in Victron connect. Does any kind soul know a explanation and hopefully a solution to this problem?
