What is the best type of generator to use to power my Victron smart charger?

I was wondering if I could use my workshop generator that puts out a modified sine wave to power my smart charger when needed, or is is best to use an inverter generator the puts out a pure sine wave? Cheers.

Best to use a sine wave generator, it might work but could be hazardous for the charger.
