After some more research, I'm getting conflicting information on whether my Mk3 USB will work or if I need a Mk2. It is also ve.9bit. Where would I find this software as I can't see it on the Victron professional site?
Could anyone help clarify please?
Also, is it possible to update the firmware to VE bus compatible or will the hardware not support it?
Hi @Ceri.w
There are further details about compatibility of unit families here: https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/manual-VE.Bus-firmware-versions-explained-EN.pdf
Your 18 series does not have VE.Bus so I don't think it is able to be used with the current versions of MK3 USB and VEConfigure3.
I have never done a firmware update on a unit of that family, is there a reason you NEED to do a firmware update? If so, I can make further enquires if it is possible.
While this is not relevant in your situation, if others in the future are looking for more information about firmware updates:
The legacy versions are listed here: https://docs.victronenergy.com/veconfigure.html#introduction-and-requirements
The Software for older devices (VEConfigure 1) is available here: https://www.victronenergy.com/support-and-downloads/software
Thank Guy.
It's an old Easyplus I have in my caravan.
There is a 200AH lifepo4 battery with a 3rd party battery monitor and protection that just blocks charging or discharging when the battery is full or empty. I then have a BMV-712, a blue solar 150/35 and this Easyplus connected.
The BMV and the blue solar share battery voltage over Bluetooth currently. The setup works, but there is no central control.
After using DVCC on my system at home and seeing just how well it works, I was just exploring the possibility of adding a CCGX to the caravan system. It all hinged around if this Easyplus could be updated or if it was a hardware limitation.
Many thanks
