3 Phase Multi 2 setup via Cerbo GX

in setting up a 3 phase Multi 2 setup, once all the VE.bus cables are connected, they say you connect the Mk3 USB and disconnect the Cerbo GX. Can one carry out the setup via the Cerbo connected to the internet via a LAN cable and no Mk3 USB? I note in the training video they use VE Configure, but Victron say that is being replaced by Victron Connect? Does the do the same thing?
