Is it possible - or is there an appropriate configuration - to use the Off Grid Quattro AC-out connected AC supply to (inversly) charge the batteries if no load is consuming power?

I am not sure I understand, but I will try and answer.
It is never possible to connect a wave forming AC supply to the AC-out of the Quattro. You will damage something.
AC supplies can be connected to the AC-out of the Quattro if they are not wave forming. An example is an AC Solar inverter, this will not create a waveform itself, but instead will synchronise to the waveform that is created by the Quattro.
The AC outputs of multiple Quattros can be connected together in parallel, but they must be correctly configured first.
