I manage dozens of installations that are working with DESS. Most of these installations are not monitoring PV-inverter output power. Without this information DESS can't do a foracast (delayed charging in summer or charging at night in winter) .
I would like to see a field in the DESS settings where the Wpeak and orientation of the installed PV installation can be filled in.
I know that Home Assistant has this feature and it works like a charm. Because the calculated values are used for an estimation for the day ahead, real measured values are not really needed and a proximation will be sufficient.
With this information DESS can make a forecast for the next day.
With this feature there is no need for an expensive retrofit of the complex energy meters. Also new installations can be installed without these higher costs.
