EasySolar2 without battery?

Hello,

imho it's a smart move of Victron to make all-in-one devices, as sometimes the puzzlework can be overwhelming for beginners (still).

short-story: it might have been asked before, but some folks can't afford a battery, is it possible to run a EasySolar 2 5000RealkW without a battery?

it is NOT recommended but possible with the MPPSolar (Voltronic) and DEYE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4xZGJ0gMaw) inverters (but they in contrast can mostly NOT feed to grid!) as this would mean: 1. no energy at night 2. every morning: switch-on, every evening switch-off: every year: on-off-on-off-on-off-on-off-on-off... which might reduce electronics lifetime.

long story: prices have gone done massively check out this very honest vendor of EVE LiFePo4 batteries https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-bestandsliste.html?userId=125907624 not sure if Victron likes these kind of links in forum posts? alternative would be https://lifepo.de but they don't care if a 280Ah actually only has 270Ah (or less))

+ JKBMS (can NOT handle 15S only 16S which is no good, what if a cell goes bad and replacement is hard to get?)

thanks in advance and sorry for the links to "non Victron" products

maybe folks can afford a DIY battery LiFePo4 + JKBMS like buy 1x cell per month :)

Like Matthias already said, If you want to use Victron stuff, always use a decent battery.

If you can't effort a battery then you should consider a different setup. Also if everything is like you said "overwhelming" then building a battery yourself is quite a (safety) challenge. 16S is fine btw. Instead of buying 1 cell per month I would advise to wait 16 months and buy the cells at the same time.

I money is a large important factor you could/should consider not starting with solar at all or at least do your (honest) calculations. Most of us (including me) do try not to think of the initial investments. :-)

NO! All Victron products are meant to be used with a battery.

And we already had that question a few times.
