Hello!
I plan to install a DC - DC charger in my Truck-Camper. The truck is a 2021 RAM 2500 with a 220 Amp alternator and a 12 Volt 83 AH battery.
The camper batteries are two 12 Volt Marine Master DP 24, CCA 550 with a capacity at 20 hours of 65Ah. They are in parallel.
A 300 Watt solar array with a PMW controller is connected to the batteries.
Can I use the Victron Orion-Tr Smart Isolated DC-DC charger - 12V/12V 30A (360W) in parallel to the solar charger to charge the camper batteries while the truck is running or is the alternator output to high?
It is my understanding that the DC-DC charger separates the camper batterie from the truck if the truck isn’t running.
