...what's the exact use case behind this? Is this a requirement by the local grid operator, maybe?

@Sharpidea

The remote on off works to stop solar production for the larger mppts. The inverters have an emergency switch assistant. This can be wired to a NC/NO emergency stop. Pressing the button stops all charge and discharge.

But if you need to actually panel disconnect for regulations then you have to look at switch gear.

Or for rapid grid disconnect also contactors and switch gear.

Do the Inverter have to actually be switched off? Some inverters have a switch on their board inside for the on off as well.

No idea what regulations you are trying to fill. Just throwing down ideas I already use in the field.

So if your state implemented NEC 2014 or NEC 2017 each solar panel will need an individual switch to stop production by panel, the micro inverters and optimizers are all coming with this feature built in now...

So look specifically for rapid shut down PV switchgear then. Rapid panel disconnection is part of system design there is plenty out there that will satisfy the requirements already.
