Orion Tr Smart non isolated in parallel poor charging

These are fitted to a 2022 Sprinter. The cables connecting are well oversize so there should be no volt drop. The graphs show a couple of hours travelling IMG_2830.pngIMG_2832.pngIMG_2831.png

More info is needed

Ie whats the output voltage's when high amps are being supplied to the output battery.

input volts and amps also needed for the same time period as above.

length of the cable runs

my guess is the as the output amps increase the output voltage is increasing above the output set voltage and the amps are then reducing to keep the voltage at the set level

If the Orions get warm due to poor cooling they will reduce charge current. If the van has a Euro V or VI alternator that reduces to low voltage the Orions will have to work harder boosting the voltage, which increases temperature, see point above.

Yes it seems that Orion’s are subject to cutting back due to temperature but surely not to this extent. The cable run is approximately 2 metres in 25mm. Here’s the o/p voltage and current graphIMG_2848.png
