Battery Protect: Difference between Li-ion and relay mode?

I was curious what the difference between these modes are and which would I would use to connect my BMV-712 so that I could shut it off when it reaches a certain SOC.

I'd assume relay mode is the one I want but I am not quite sure.

I can't believe I forgot to include the product I was talking about. My apologizes. But my question was referring to the Victron Battery Protect.

I figured out that you can trip the relay (turning it on/off) with the BMV with default settings and works with the other modes.

I changed the title for you, now it's more clear :)

from the manual:

https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Manual-Smart-Battery-Protect-12V-24V-65-A-100-A--220-A-EN-NL-FR-SV-DE-PT-ES-IT-TR.pdf

So relay mode or buzzer/led mode is the way the device alarms (buzzer or relay)

Li-ion mode the unit switches based on the control input only, no alarm output.
