We live in Chester in the NW of UK and often observe the solar forecasting within VRM to be pretty inaccurate.
Today has been an exceptionally bad example which has prompted me to write this post. See the screenshot below. The few different weather apps we have on our phone (Google, BBC weather, Weather Radar) all showed our area being cloudy all morning and up until mid afternoon yesterday, yet the solar forecasting was indicating a bright sunny day and is still doing so at lunchtime.
We certainly don't have any confidence of even trying to use automated functions of Dynamic ESS based on the current solar forecasting as it's often wildly inaccurate. I fully appreciate that this is still a beta feature, but as the forecasting is at the heart of the system, for our area it is in need of improvement.
