Question on how the BCD 402 operates. If I have 2 batteries connected to the inputs, does the output come from both sources at some certain proportion OR does it just pass the higher voltage input?
Being an "diode OR" device, the output comes from both batteries, directly proportional with the voltage of the batteries.
Kirchhoff's laws. Link here.
Meaning, the bigger voltage battery - in other words the one with higher SOC - will supply more current that the lower voltage battery.
Also, the bigger SOC battery will not be able to balance - supply current - to the lower SOC battery, because of the diodes inside the BCD.
