Redarc 1240D with Victron Solar Controller & SmartShunt
I have a MB Sprinter campervan with 2x200VA Lithium batteries, a Victron SmartShunt 500A, Victron Solar Controller, Victron Blue Smart Charger and a REDARC 1240D.
All the Victron componentry works perfectly. However on starting the engine, the REDARC unit after a minute goes into Absorption mode so I only get 5 or 6 amps out of it. I have run the system down to 60% battery charge and 13 volts and the problem remains.
I have had the system wired to REDARC specifications. After multiple discussions with REDARC they replaced the unit, I still have the problem.
As a last resort, I'm asking you.
Is there a compatibility problem with REDARC units?
Should the solar unit be disconnected when the engine is running as I read somewhere?
Is there anything obvious wrong?
