Hi everyone
I was planning to buy an additional 250/70 to daisy chain it on 2 existing 250/100 via VE.Can. But my otherwise reliable equipment supplier says he has a 250/70 with only VE.Direct. He proposes I buy the more expensive 250/100 instead.
Two questions:
1. I thought all 250/70 have VE.Can as standard?
2. Can I daisy chain the two 250/100 on VE.Can but put 1 smaller MPPT, say 150/30 on VE.Direct?

There are several different models of 250/70 some with and without CAN. It just so happens your supplier has the one without. Even 2 X 250/70 with ve direct will be ok. If you have the ports to spare.
Yes you can mix ve direct and ve can mppts on one install. Small and large. There are no issues at all.
