Hello everyone,
The topic has actually two questions:
1) What is the exact differcene (apart from price) in these two Orion DC-DC converters?
I have searched but not found anything in the datasheet (i may have overlooked)
Orion 12/24-15A (360W) ORI122436100 83 x 130 x 191 √1,4
Orion-Tr 12/24-15A (360W) ORI122441110 130 x 186 x 80 √1,8
The last one is isolated and the firts one is non-isolated? Because i have searched on the no-isolated datasheet and it does not appear there (the 360W one).
In the price list both appear under galvanic isolation DC_DC converters.
2) What I want to know (if anybody has done tgis in practice as well, it would be great to have the feedback) is the following:
I have a 12Vdc battery system and I need to up-convert it to 24Vdc to power up an MF/HF transmitter (radio) which consumes about 30A in transmit mode and 5A in receive mode.
So I would need around 720W of power. The question is:
- can it be done with 2 (or 3 for safety) Orion 12/24-15A in parallel or Orion TR 12/24-15 or better a buck-boost converter of 50A?
Please note that TX time is not continous, but can last when needed say 1-2 hours accumulated.
Thank you in advance for your replies.
