I have a Fronius Symo 6.0-3-M Full with 3x Multiplus II 48/8000 and a Cerbo GX. What is the best way to let the Fronius communicate with the Cerbo GX? With the modbus or with wifi/ethernet or both?

It depends on your network. So more of an IT question.
If static ip is not set sometimes over WiFi network the fronius gets lost or does not reconnect when it wakes up in the morning.
I have found in practice a direct connection to the Cerbo is the most reliable but it does not allow the inveeter to be connected to fronius web.
It will still be programmed to be controlled over modbus regardless of the communication set up. As stated in the manual.
Access the settings of your Fronius inverter. You'll need to enable Modbus communication and set the appropriate parameters like the Modbus address, communication speed, and register mapping. Note down the Modbus address and register map settings as you'll need these to configure the Cerbo GX. Pay by Plate Ma
