In values recorded and shown, exactly how does the SmartShunt take into account set inefficiencies?
Considering what the documentation says (below), I have a few doubts:
- How is the "Status -> Consumed Ah" calculated? Does it take into account the set charge efficiency factor %? The Peukert exponent? Or both?
- kWh values shown in "History -> Discharged energy & Charged energy" are raw, absolute, uncompounded value (meaning, they neither consider Peukert nor Charge efficiency %), right?
- The same for "History -> Cumulative Ah drawn" (Peukert and Charge efficiency % are not taken into consideration here), right?
5.2. Readout overview (...) Consumed Ah The battery monitor keeps track of the Amp-hours removed from the battery compensated for the efficiency.
5.5. History (...) Cumulative Ah drawn: The cumulative number of Amp hours drawn from the battery over the lifetime of the battery monitor. Discharged energy: This is the total amount of energy drawn from the battery in kW Charged energy: The total amount of energy absorbed by the battery in kWh.
7.2.7. Charge efficiency factor The “Charge Efficiency Factor” compensates for the capacity (Ah) losses during charging. A setting of 100% means that there are no losses. A charge efficiency of 95% means that 10Ah must be transferred to the battery to get 9.5Ah actually stored in the battery. The charge efficiency of a battery depends on battery type, age and usage. The battery monitor takes this phenomenon into account with the charge efficiency factor.
8. Battery capacity and Peukert exponent (...) The capacity of a battery depends on the rate of discharge. The faster the rate of discharge, the less capacity will be available. The relation between slow or fast discharge can be calculated by Peukert’s law and is expressed by the Peukert exponent
