In VRM, "advanced" tab, what are the numbers after the widget title?

Are they referencing documentation? Or data elements? Can they be hidden/modified?

That is the device instance number.
This corresponds with the number shown in the device page on the CerboGX for example:

In this case my BMV-712 is using device instance 279.
