IP65 12/10 negative,

I've purchased the IP65 12/10 to wire permanent into my VW camper to charge my 130ah AGM battery when on shore power/hook up, do I connect the negative cable to the vehicle earth or can I safely connect to my smart shunt/battery monitor so I can see at a glance on my monitor rather than have to get my phone and check the app?

conecting it to the earth point or engine block should be were it goes if the smart shunt is installed correctly
