If an Orion converter has it’s output at say 13.2V which is parallel with a battery, does it get damaged when an alternator starts outputting 14.4V to that?

Can you confirm you have a orion converter not the orion smart charger?
I have both, but the question is for power supply mode of the smart, or the fixed output of the regulator Orion’s. If there is a difference, how to tell? My initial thoughts are that models that support parallel installation should support a higher voltage back feeding them?
So long as input voltage is adequate:
In power supply mode it will output the set voltage, irrespective of input voltage.
In charger mode it will output according to the battery charge settings, again irrespective of input voltage.
I'm not seeing the question answered.
Provided the voltage is within reason (appropriate for charging a 12V system), there should be no backfeed.
