4 batteries serial and parallel connection

I am connecting 4 AGM 12v batteries serial and parallel to get 24v. Is it OK to connect loads and shunt like in picture from opposite batteries or should I connect both battery terminals to collection post and from there to load and shunt?

@beavis your diagram gives an unbalanced current from each series battery pair.

1 series pair has 1 short link, the other series pair has 3 short links.

OK, so I will use same length cables on battery connections and connection post for loads.
