Yes it is ok to do that. Just remember to fuse for the cable (or half the recommended fuse size for the inverter pwr cable) Also both cables exactly the same length.
There is some lines of thinking/difference of opinion that would prefer NH fuses from inverter because of fault current and arc quenching.
But at the end of the day if there is a short circuit or overcurrent they will blow and the inverter should shutdown on overload anyway if the battery can supply the current. So correct battery size is important as well for it all to work well.
