Hello, I am installing an Inverter VE.Direct in my car, the car is negative grounded chassis, meaning that the negative pole of the main battery is connected to the chassis.
Where should I connect the ground of the inverter? Is it safe to the chassis? So negative and ground both on the chassis..
Victron Energy systems are usually earthed on the negative pole.
If your protective earth (via the tyres) is on the chassis, then you clamp the negative pole of your battery to the chassis and the housing of all your equipment, the substructure of your solar modules and the frames of your solar modules to the negative pole of your battery. If that isn't possible, then clamp them to the chassis.
Do NOT earth the negative pole of the solar modules!

But I don't have any solar equipment.
I have an inverter, inverter is connected to pos and negative of my service battery. Simple setup.
My question is: where do I clamp the GND of the inverter?
To chassis?
Chassis is however connected to negative of my starter battery
