Are you adding fans to your MPPT Controllers ?

Hi All,

If you have a Victron MPPT Charge Controller you most probably noticed it can get very hot to the touch. I have seen some guys add fans to the unit like below.

I have checked my 250/100 MPPT controllers with Thermal imager and I have recorded +- 56 degrees at times.

Victron says there units can run "Operating temperature -30 to +60 °C (full rated output up to 40 °C)" .

Are you cooling your units down and how?

Nope, and this is a warm weather region.

They cope just fine.

I'm cooling one of them (250/100) as it gets 65 degrees and limits to 5400w

Where did you get your parts? That looks interesting!

Mounted on aluminum angle to help with air flow.

Found mine getting very hot inside a cabinet so cut a hole behind it and mounted a 12volt 4” fan directly behind it in the next cabinet can now put my hand on it.

I didnt , i found that on the internet. You could similar on https://www.thingiverse.com/and 3d print it.
