BT dongle AND usb drive on same USB port on Easy Solar II

Easy Solar II has only 1 USB port. I would like to have BT dongle and usb stick on it (for recording data when connection is unavailable). Could this be done with simple USB Y splitter or do i need USB hub?

Up to 8 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 190.8 MiB each and 286.6 MiB total.

I'd go for a USB hub as both require the data pins. A USB Y splitter usually only has the power pins wired (so it can be used for charging devices only).
