Hi all
I am in the process of installing 3 x 395watt solar panels on my boat, these will be over an arch in the transom, and the panels will not be completely flat.
AS395M6-120 | |
Rated Maximum Power at STC | 395W |
Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) | 42.1 |
Maximum Power Voltage (Vmp) | 35.62 |
Short Circuit Current (Isc) | 11.63 |
Maximum Power Current (Imp) | 11.09 |
PV Module Efficiency (%) | 21.65 |
For the controller I have a Victron 150/60 located 5 meters away from the panels, and based on my calculations, the total voltage will not reach the 150v threshold
I live in Hong Kong, so temperatures never go below 5 centigrade, and seldom below 10 centrigrade
I have been reading the benefits of panels in series over parallel, but given the fact that the panels will not be totally level to one-another, what is the expert recommendation?
I was keen on series, in order to benefit or using a smaller wire size, although if in parallel, I will run independent wires to a bus bar just before the MPPT
Any feedback will be welcomed
Thank you for your help
Regards
Andres
