Exceeding the Cerbo's USB power?

I was wondering what happens if you exceed it's USB power ability?

I was wondering if it could power a small mini router?

I've never tried to exceed the power limit of USB-A (1.1 and 2.0 = 500mA) port, but as far as I know it will terminate the connection as per standards.

As long as it won't damage it's little power converter.

It would help clean up my wiring.

Would this be asking for trouble....

My Cerbo powers the Lynx fuse lights - could I use the Lynx pass through to power this router?

I checked the listing, it doesn't give power consumption. But there's a recent question answered by the seller, saying it needs a 5V/2A supply, but draws less than 2W. The description asks for a 1A supply.

Might work, but you're probably on the limit. I'd suggest using a powered USB hub or direct power supply.
