When wiring the BMV-712 in mobile installaitons, is it critical to run the cable all the way to the starter battery positive terminal?
In installations where the engine alternator is charging the house circuit, eg. via a DC-DC charger like the Orion-TR, would it be just as prudent to connect the aux. line of the monitor to the input of line of the Orion, Buck-Boost, or similar? How much would this affect voltage read-out?
Since some installations have the house bank and the BMV shunt quite far from the starter battery, it seems to make sense to monitor from the input side of the DC-DC, but I'm wondering if this is common practice or not.
