If a Quattro inverter is connected to the grid only for charging batteries and not to export to the grid, do I need to comply with grid codes?
You would not need to enter a grid code or load the ESS assistant. I'd say generally you shouldn't have a problem connecting to the grid for battery charging or pass through to your loads.
There MAY be other regulations you need to meet. A local electrician may be able to help you determine if your selected Quattro meets these requirements.
