Hi, is it recommended to install fuse to the output of the 25A Orion 24->12 DC-DC converter? What happens when I try to draw more power than rated? Will the converter just shut down, will it burn, will the cable start melting?

if you overload the unit it will shut down,
a fuse is needed to protect the wiring so if the wiring cant take 25 amps then add a fuse, or for 100% piece of mind add a fuse
