Our experimental 1p-Quattro5kVA/MPPT-RS+Microgrid installation got a genset about 2 months ago.
Everything works fine, charger assistant can distinguish between genset and grid, genset is a Honda EU 32i which seems to have such a high quality of AC-Out, that even the old microgrid inverter we have on AC-Out of the quattro syncs. (Which it BTW often doesn't when the Quattro is in inverter only mode - which means I can consider the output of the Honda better than that of the Quattro)
Anyway: VRM
VRM is pretty broken when it comes to display the genset parameters. I assume (correct me if I am wrong) "Acc. runtime" is "accumulated runtime"? I mean maybe one could write "Total runtime" and would not even need the abbreviation (Accessory runtime?), but the main issue I have is the value there: 1m, 3s
That doesn't change although the genset is nearing its 2h "Acc. runtime". In system overview, the genset is completely ignored:
and the only thing you could say that "something else" was involved was by looking at the battery SoC which behaves magically.
Of course, there is still "consumption", but it's about as bad/nonsensical:
at this point, the genset has delivered about 1,5kWh, yet only the amount is shown that was consumed directly. I was under the impression that the amount that is shown under "from Grid" includes energy used for charging the battery. Correct me if I am wrong.
Anyway, if I am wrong, then there is:
And in that case the humble computer scientist with some experience in software ergonomics in me would propose to rename this from "Solar" to "Generation" and have there
Sun production
Genset production
(later maybe wind if so defined from some MPPT)
and show what actually went from where to battery.
Just an idea how I would do it.
