blue smart ip22 connect to VRM?

Is it possible to connect the ip22 chargers to VRM for stats? I have a cerbo GX and that doesn't seem to support the ve bluetooth network. Seems that the fact that the ip22 can connect to and create a ve bluetooth network suggests I should be able to get this data out to VRM somehow.

@dandenson

Unfortunately not possible. The IP22 has no communication port. You may want to check out the Phoenix Smart Charger IP43, which has VE.Direct and communicates with the GX device and VRM.

Sadly, at 3X the price. The IP22 should have this, kind of a disappointment it doesn't. At the least we should be able to connect it to the CERBO GX vi bluetooth and manage over wifi.

yeah, I'm constantly infuriated by these oversights across the board on victron products. every time I go to do something, there's a gap in the product that makes no sense. I'm constantly looking for a more complete product line.

so, help me out here..... I'm a little new.....

If the IP22 charger is setup to automatically maintain the Battery(ies), and there is an option to add a "smart shunt" for remote monitoring..... Then couldn't you just connect the Smart Shunt to the GX so that info can go to the VRM?

"Smart" just means it has bluetooth, and can communicate with the VictronConnect app.

'smart' = bluetooth would be an isolated case for this product alone in victron's lineup. Everything else 'smart' has a ve-direct port on it.

Definitely not true. Orion-Tr Smart; IP65, 67, and 22 Smart chargers; Smart BatteryProtect; Lithium battery Smart; Smart BatterySense; and more, all with no alternate comms ports. Smart means bluetooth, full stop - the presence of alternate comms ports such as VE.Direct, VE.Bus, or VE.Can will always be indicated in the datasheet or product description, and has no bearing on whether the unit has a "Smart" designation or not.

The IP22 has an internal (on the pcb inside) VE-direct port as standard 2,54mm pin headers and gets recognized by a GX device if i'm not mistaken.

It is designed for BT smart networks. But no wired connections for comms.

Tech specs list comms as Victron Connect.

Maybe if you could program and alter GX software to do it....?
