I have a simple questions regarding the need for an autotranformer to achieve 120v from a 240v Quattro 48/15000/210 . Is the autotranformer necessary?
Can I not use a bonded neutral and a hot (L1 or L2) to achieve my 120V?
Or, will that create an imbalance in the Multiplus?
This is completely off grid, with not interaction with the grid whatsoever.
I would appreciate clarity on the matter.

you would need a separte transformer to reduce 220v down to 120 volt. it cannot be done through the multiplus 220 unit itself not hz would still stay at 50hz
Assuming you are in the US and have an European 230 volt MP or Quattro and are trying to get 120 volts, then yes you need an autotransformer. You can change the voltage and hz in setup to 240/60. Then connect an autotransformer as shown here:https://shop.pkys.com/autotransformer.html. If you have a MP II 2X120, then no, it's different.
