Smartshunt settings error asking for aux input

Hi Guys, I'm a complete novice and my rig was setup by a victron specialist who I have lost his phone number so I'm trying to find answers without breaking things. I did install all the wiring and appliances in my van but the victron devices were installed for me.

I have solar, B2B and a multi, all working, no fault lights.

I had a very dead starter battery and replaced it a few weeks ago with a lead acid as before. My rig is lithium 300Ah.

I just did my routine firmware updates and noticed on the smartshunt settings cog an unhappy red warning. On entering settings it won't allow me in and is flagging up "First use setup below parameters must be co figured before other settings can be made" and it shows the Misc Aux input. When I click SET it takes me into some choices, such as starter battery etc.

OK so I have no idea what to set this to, I'd be totally guessing and I'm a bit shy of pressing and guessing.

Another point is my lithium bank is roughly 50% charged and my solar is on float, which seems incorrect to me.

Helpful advice appreciated, wish I'd taken a note of all settings when using this for the last 12 months and noted it all down.

Cheers

Nic

With regards to the Misc input, we'd be guessing too. You did mention your start battery, if you were used to seeing the start battery displayed before, then choose that option. If in doubt then choose none.

The actual state of charge of your lithium battery is going to be difficult to prove especially if you guess it's about halfway. The only was to be sure to to ensure it does reach its fully charged Voltage at the next charging time and then you'll know that it's 100%. After this you can perform a sync on the BMV to marry it up.

Are the other settings correct, especially the battery capacity parameter? If that's wrong then it's never show a true state of charge reading. Can't really help with telling you those setting without knowing your system in more detail. It'd be ideal if you did manage to find the number for your installer as they'll know how your system was set up.

Thank you for your reply, I followed the cables from the smartshunt and verified there was something wired into the aux port and I have checked firmware versions, found yet more updates and now have everything updated to latest versions and the set aux message has gone away.

As I can now get into the settings I have taken screenshots of every setting in all my victron gear but i notice some fields look wrong, which is curious to me as im pretty sure things were good before. The aux was indeed the starter battery and that is now ok.

I have 2 x 12v 150Ah Poweroad Base Lithium LIFEPO4 batteries (with built in BMS) wired in parallel. Poweroad state Ideal charge voltage is 14.4v, top up charge 13.6v.

I have a Multi -12/800/35, a 30 DC to DC smart charger, 360w solar panel and MPPT plus a digital multi control GX, all victron. I also have a consumer unit but thats an aside.

My batteries show 56% charged yet solar is on float (and its a lovely sunny day and my van is outdoors in the sun).

In my smartshunt:

Capacity is set to 300Ah, charged voltage is set to 14.4v -I noticed the discharge floor was set to 50% so ive changed that to 5% as my batteries can go flat thousands of times before damage is a concern - so im lost on what else needs to be checked, set, synched etc as in the last 12 months ive just hardly used the van (broken ankle and 6 months to heal unfortunately) but now im ready to embark on my adventures.

The original fitter has left the company, so really i need to get myself up to speed with all this, as i have done on everything else as i built the van myself and will need to maintain it on the road.

I have attached screenshots so some kind soul can give me a hand to get battery charging and showing correct state.

Cheers

Nic
