I'm charging an Amped Outdoors 30ah battery and read where it can go to 14.6-7 in bulk but that absorption and float don't matter. Is that true? When it reaches the 14.6v there's no more current going through.

It depends on the manufacturer of the battery. So follow what they recommend.
The no more current part is usually cell balancing part of the charge, when that is done the battery pack can be dropped to float.
If it is your own built pack that is a different story.
