can someone tell me what i can program the aux inputs to do? is there a list of things they can be programmed to do;.

It has a whole lot of uses
they open and close based on conditions you set.
So generator start stop. Fan start stop.
Engage a contactor for other loads that ac 2 based on load conditions
Activate an alarm or led under certain conditions.
You can have an emergency stop button as well.
Best way to find out is to use the demo mode in VE Config and play with the assistants
