I am looking into a new ESS with 48V battery and Multiplus ii 48/5000.
I have a spare solar inverter to use.
Would it be better to charge the battery directly with a MPPT, without the seperate solar inverter ?
Thank's.

@Dieter The MPPT will be a more efficient way of charging as it is DC-to-DC. If the inverter is grid-tied, then DC-to-AC takes place and then charging AC-to-DC. Consumption will result in another conversion. If the inverter is a hybrid, then the charging will also be DC-to-DC.
