VE.smart tail current

If I have a BMV712 smart networked why do I have to set tail current in the network Smartsolar mppt. I’m struggling to make the mppt and bmv what charge mode is underway

Make all the correct settings on both devices. If for any reason the network disconnect/ malfunctions then the unit can think for itself.
