Smartsolar 250/85 and Cerbo via VE-Direct

Hi there,

I have a problem with my Smartsolar 250/85, which is connected to Cerbo GX via VE-direct. I always can see the solarcharger on Cerbo and consquently in VRM, however, since a few days the connection is quite instable.

I am under the impression, it is a heat problem, since the last days have rather high temperatures.

Did anybody experience the same?

Is there (as it is the case of Cerbo with Bluetooth) a function that VE-direct will be switched off if a certain temperature is reached?

I would be pleased if somebody has a hint for me.

Hi @Info@12V-Power.de,

Diese Laderegler werden in weitaus wärmeren Gefilden betrieben. VE.Direct wird jedenfalls nicht ausgeschaltet, wenn es dem Cerbo zu warm wird. Ich habe zwar schon öfters gehört, dass die Verbindung zwischen GX (egal welcher) und MPPT mal ausfällt, das aber nur in Zusammenhang mit einem fehlerhaften VE.Direct Kabel und nicht mit Wärme.

Vielleicht mal ein anderes VE.Direct Kabel testen?

Hi Stefanie,

bedankt für Deine Einschätzung. Das merkwürdige ist, vorher war jahrelang mit dem selben Kabel ein Smartsolar 150|50 in Betrieb, ohne, dass es auch nur einen einzigen Ausfall gab.

Heute Nacht ist der Regler wiedergekommen, und wird sich -aller Voraussicht nach- um die Mittagszeit wieder vom Cerbo verabschieden :-( .

Ich suche mal weiter und melde mich :-)

Indeed, it was a poor connection of the plug only.
