phoenix inverter 12/500 - Overload

Hi , I just don't get the phoenix inverter 12/500 - Overload ?

I put on a 3d printer with the load of about 420 watts which it will later say it high , but will switch off and say overload , but looking at the shunt voltage and current never tested the load , so now I worked how to fix it add a 100 watt load first , than add the 420 watt , run for a few second and knock off the extra 100 watt load.

So it will overload at 420 watts , but run with a 550 plus watt load .

The inverter is not 500W but 500VA.

So more like 400W since there is power factor of your appliances to consider as well. So you are doing well at 420W.

Work on a average of 0.8 when working out your loads to inverter max. Some appliances are 0.5.

Most of that 420w is a heating element which is mostly a resistive load .

What I'm saying is :- 420 watts overload , 550 watts working , So it stop a overload you need to overloading it more .
