Small 48v home battery system

We have a small amount of excess solar from our 2kw array with a SMA sunnyboy inverter on a feed in tariff located in the uk.

We would like to divert to a battery instead of losing it to the grid. Is it possible to use the Multiplus 48/1200 with one 2.5kwh Pylon battery? We only want a low cost system with enough power output for the television, lights, fridge etc on an evening.

Could we install an ac coupled system using the Victron ESS system?

This unit is not type approved for G98/G99 in the UK, so from that perspective the answer is no. https://www.ena-eng.org/gen-ttr/
