I have the same chanllenge, and ordered two 5 meter cables. But the distributer tells me it is not possible to connect the 5 m VE Can - Can bus BMS with a simple RJ45 extender. I really liked the solution. Can you confrim it did work for you. Thank you
The 2nd one will mix up the pins.
You need to use a normal straight patch cable.
No adjustments. The connections will look like this:
CAN Port--5m ethernet cable--ethernet joiner--5m Victron type A cable--BMS Port
Effectively the 5m ethernet cable plus the ethernet joiner just moves your CANBUS port 5m closer (without swapping any pins) and then the Victron type A swaps the pins to the correct position to connect to the BMS port.

You can also use just a RJ45 extender and another 5m patch cable.
