Hello, i've been looking for quite some hours to get the answer without result. I really hope someone can provide some clearity. I want to buy the exact same model for easy swap as the multiplus is not working anymore (control chip is broken). However i noticed the "Phoenix" difference but i cannot find i can swap and use my current setup.

The "new" one is an older model. Probably not VE.Bus.
It probably has firmware 18xxyyy which is old VE.9bit. I have a similar one of those ones and it is 18xxyyy.
The broken one looks newer and is probably VE.Bus with either firmware 19xxyyy or 20xxyyy or mayber even newer 26xxyyy or 27xxyyy.
Thank you very much. Do you know which one i should buy to replace the faulty unit and still use the controller. Or should i replace everything?

The "new" one is definitely older than you defective one.
Just look for another "MultiPlus Compact" with a orange stripe.
