Connect 100/50 MPPT to Venus

Hi,

I have successfully installed a Venus image on a RPi and can see my BMV712.

I now wish to connect my MPPT 100/50 so that i can VRM and see whats happening.

I have purchased a Victron original VE Direct cable with JST PH plugs each end but need to get this connected to a usb to plug into the Pi. I have a Adafruit 954 USB to TTL cable. Both cables consist of four wires. Red, Black, green and white. Do i just connect the same colours together or do i cross the white and green over?

Hi @Bear,

I strongly recommend to buy a VE.Direct to USB adapter. You can try a diy adapter, but it is known for making problems at some point and there is little to no help available because it's almost impossible to track those issues down.

However, if you google for Victron VE.Direct diy, you'll find tons of info how to get this wired correctly.
