Can someone please advise if there is any isolation (fuses or other) between the MC4 inputs on a 150/100 or 250/100 charge controller? I need to confirm if string fusing is required when using multiple inputs. IE: will current flow from strings A and B to string input C during fault conditions on input C, or is the current limited or otherwise isolated.
Hi R. As I understand it, it's just a common bus - a convenience thing.
So yes, take the necessary external precautions. It's your choice, but I like to use double pole dc breakers (Noark) for that.
