Quattro not charging after grid failure

Morning,

We have a 10kva Quattro that is not charing the batteries after grid failure. Power was off for 4 hours and drained batteries to 70% SOC. When mains power returns the Quattro jumps directly to float.

Resetting the Quattro forces a short charge cycle for approx 2 hours only charging to around 90% SOC.

System Details:

1 x 10 kva Quattro (firmware 426) - (Hub-1 Connected to mains, no feedback)

1 x Bluepower 150/85

1 x Venus GX

1 x BMV-700

Thanks in advance,

Jacques

what kind of batteries? what are the voltages / currents? (can you share graphs from VRM?)

The batteries are AGM+GEL VRLA Solar cells 260AH each in a bank of 16 cells. Change current on the quatro is set to +-100A. I will see if i can get some graphs from VRM.

What are the battery settings in the Quattro? it seems at 1600 it charged to 57 volts, current dropped fast so battery was charged pretty well before that I'd say.

It doesn't add up...first a question:

-what is advised float voltage from battery manufacturer? 2,3V per cell seems a bit high to me.

In the graphs you posted it seems float voltage was about 52,4 volts. Did you change it since then?

Oh yes sorry sent the wrong screen print, was mucking around and changed the presets and it changed the float voltages. Abs: 57.6 Float: 52.8

Manufacturer charge voltages are high:

Float: 2.25v/cell

Cycle: 2.35/cell

70% SOC may not be low enough to trigger a new bulk cycle. The voltage has to drop by a (fairly large) amount to get a new charge. The preset amount is okay for lead acid but too large a delta for most lithium chemistries.

Hi As boekel, has requested , what are the batteries and what size / capacity are they

the 10Kw Quattro can charge at a very high amps/current rate, and you maybe the batteries cant take the full current so the voltage raises and thus the charger thinks the batteries have reached absorbtion, or the SOC is out, these are just guesses as a full description of the system would be helpfull
