Inverter RS Ground Fault Error 42

Off Grid site installed in June 2021 has had two Error 42 Ground Fault events. One 2 months after install and one in the last 2 days. On detailed inspection with (full insulation resistance testing with a Mega tester Fluke etc) no faults could be found on array cables to earth, (and other cables that wouldnt be likely to cause issues). Has anyone else had this Error and could not locate cable faults etc? Or any other suggestions. All JA Solar panels, cables etc were brand new and have been visually checked for damage. No 4G coverage so system is not on VRM

Keen to hear thoughts.

Hi Thiemo, thanks for your reply. The site is remote from the installers office and the firmware version was not recorded. The firmware was auto updated when it was on the bench in June 2021, during commissioning and set up. Does that help. The installer is not intending to return to site as the unit is still operating. As above, the only two times the unit has needed to be reset is after rain. fluke.jpg There were 4 photos provided of each string to earth test.

Keen to get your feedback if a newer firmware version may have rectified this issue.

Hi David,

Firmware version v1.04 or newer will restart the unit automatically when the error condition is gone. It could be that the inverter RS does not yet contain this version as it was released 23th of June.
